VCNB Opens The Doors To A New Bank In McArthur
They say that when one door closes, another one opens. That’s exactly what is happening today in McArthur as we open the doors to our new Vinton County National Bank at 203 West Main Street.
This new building will allow the bank to offer better and smarter service to customers. It will also allow us to repurpose the old bank building into a more efficient corporate headquarters.
VCNB employs over fifty people in Vinton County and the corporate spaces have become crowded over the years.
The new building is configured to suit the needs of modern bank customers and to have all of our retail operations together. By having the drive-thru in the same building as the bank lobby, all of our employees can work under the same roof and our drive-thru employees can feel closer to their coworkers.
The building was also designed with efficiency in mind. Utility usage was considered when it came to choosing appliances, windows, insulation and even lighting. For example, office lights automatically turn off when not in use. Interior glass walls and doors provide some customer privacy while still allowing natural light to stream through the space.
We hope customers will appreciate having three drive-thru lanes in addition to a lane for the ATM and Express Drop. A new coin machine, comfortable seating and a selection of Keurig coffee drinks are meant to welcome customers. New technology for the bankers is expected to make their jobs easier.
While we are excited for the changes ahead, we are also feeling a little bittersweet. For many of our employees and customers, the only bank we know is at that old building at 112 West Main Street. But it was clear that we had outgrown that space and that our corporate office needed room to grow.
We are excited to open our new space and to take with us the values and traditions that have helped us succeed since 1867. We hope customers will be pleased to bank in this new space. Most of all, we hope you will allow us to help you and our community grow for many years to come.
