Why Change To A .Bank Address?

We recently made some big changes to our website. The first thing you might notice is that it looks a little different and that things are better organized to make it easier to locate what you need. The other prominent change is in the URL. Our website is now www.VCNBfamily.bank instead of a .com address.

These four little letters may not seem like a big deal to our customers but they represent a huge improvement in how we are able to keep our website and your online banking secure. Here are some things we want you to know!

-    To have a .bank address, banks must complete a process where they prove that they are actually a bank and where they prove that they have met rigorous security standards.
-    A .com address is available for sale to anyone on the internet and can be used by any type of business. There are other types of domains that require a more rigorous registration process. For example, to use a .museum domain, the applicant must prove they are actually a museum.
-    If you see a .bank domain, you can rest assured that the website belongs to a real bank.
-    All banks with a .bank domain must implement additional security requirements to help secure their site and protect customers from phishing, spoofing and other cyberattacks. All banks are monitored for compliance with these security requirements.
-    You don’t need to do anything special. As always, we encourage you to pay attention to the URL of any website you visit to make sure that it’s the site you intend to visit. Our homepage should say www.VCNBfamily.bank.

If you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to look around our website and to learn more about bank products and services. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to keep the bank secure and to improve your online banking experience.
